Meet Our Pastor
Jim Dykes, Senior PastorOur pastor was born in South Carolina in 1964. His family moved to Asheville, NC when he was just 3 years old. In 1981, at 16 years of age Jim was saved, and one year later, he sensed God's call to ministry. It was at Tabernacle Baptist Bible College in Greenville, SC that he became engaged to his high school sweetheart, Tracey; they later married in June of 1984. The Dykes have four beautiful children: Whitney, Evan, Kristina, and Alexandria. Jim has been the pastor of North Asheville Baptist Church since 1989 when there were only 40 members. Through his spiritual gifts of leadership, knowledge, and teaching, he is honored to pastor a congregation of more than 1300 members. North Asheville Baptist Church is a reflection of his true passion to build the kingdom of Jesus Christ through practical bible teaching.
